School Calendar
At Wollingsford Academy, we’ve reimagined the school year to create a balanced, engaging, and student-friendly experience. Our 42-week academic calendar runs Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST, giving students a long weekend every week to recharge, explore interests, or spend time with family. Throughout the year, students enjoy thoughtfully scheduled breaks—including Mental Health Days, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break—to support wellness and prevent burnout. And for our graduating seniors, there’s an added perk: they wrap up the school year two weeks early, giving them a head start on post-graduation plans. It’s a schedule built for success—and designed with real life in mind.
Typical School Day
Each school day begins with Morning Homeroom, a purposeful time dedicated to setting the tone for a positive, productive day. During this session, students receive motivational support, engage in daily affirmations, and work independently or with a peer to set three personal academic goals. This practice helps young people build self-awareness, focus, and responsibility—essential life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Following Homeroom, students transition into their live virtual core classes, where they collaborate with teachers and peers in real time to strengthen their foundational skills in Math, Science, English/Language Arts, and History. After a focused morning of learning, students enjoy a one-hour lunch break, during which we encourage them to log off, enjoy a nutritious meal, and get in some movement to refresh their minds and bodies.
In the afternoon, students return for enrichment sessions that bring learning to life. These interactive classes include STEM workshops that reinforce academic concepts, technology explorations that inspire innovation, and creative arts projects that nurture self-expression. It's a well-rounded day designed to keep students engaged, challenged, and inspired from start to finish.
